DIARY OF A CHEF AT HOME
a collection of holistic nutrition tips & tricks, plus many of Food on the Table's favourite recipes
It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I started to make my own cranberry sauce. Growing up we'd always use the canned stuff, even though my mom made everything else from scratch..
it was just one of those things we bought in a can. No biggie...until I discovered just how easy it is to make!! Like literally, you can make this stuff in under 15 minutes and it's SOOOO worth it. Last year I spiked it with a bit of rum which really kicked it up a notch. Just a little something to accompany your turkey or maybe try it with pork tenderloin.
Spiked Cranberry Sauce
¼ cup spiced rum + 2 Tbsp
¼ cup maple syrup
3 tablespoons orange juice
1 tablespoon orange rind
1 bay leaf
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon sea salt
1 12 ounce bag of cranberries, whole
½ cup water
