DIARY OF A CHEF AT HOME
a collection of holistic nutrition tips & tricks, plus many of Food on the Table's favourite recipes
Why would I need a personal chef?
There’s a chance that you’re wondering how you could possibly justify hiring a personal chef. Well, I’m here to tell you how you can. Many of us lead busy lives. And, unless you’re a meticulous budgeter then you probably have no idea how much time and money you spend on food – especially prepared food.
Think about how many weeknights you grab take out on the way home from work, stop at the grocery store to pick up a pre-cooked chicken and a salad from the deli, or have freezer pizza waiting for the kids when they get home from their soccer match. Now imagine taking that money and putting it toward healthy simple dinners and snacks that you really want to eat, day in and day out.
When you have a private cook, nothing goes to waste. You get meals that are pre-planned, shopped for and portioned out to suit your family’s needs. And, when you invite me, you also get my nutritional expertise. There’s no stressing about whether your family is getting a balanced diet, because I’ve got that covered.
Eliminating a few extra trips to the store can also be a huge time saver for families. Plus, all of the meals that you receive are heat and serve (or in the case of some dishes you can just plate‘em and eat‘em). You don’t even have to worry about picking up the meals, because I cook in your home, use your storage containers and clean up the mess.
As a registered holistic nutritionist, I am also sensitive to the fact that within even the smallest family there can be multiple dietary parameters to work within. I am comfortable coaching families through new diagnoses, required diets and healthy choices including, but certainly not limited to:
Paleo /paleo autoimmune
Vegetarian / Vegan
